Difference between medical non-woven fabric and ordinary non-woven fabric

We usually say that masks are non-woven materials. Non woven fabrics are non-woven fabrics, which are made of directional or random fibers.

All masks are made of polypropylene (PP). Specifically, they should be polypropylene high melt fat non-woven fabrics, which can be used for disposable operating clothes, sheets, masks, covers, liquid absorbent pads, etc.

The medical surgical mask is generally made of three layers of non-woven fabric: spunbonded nonwoven fabric + filtration and anti-bacterial rate of more than 99.999%. Melt blown non-woven fabric + spunbonded non-woven fabric can also be used for one layer to improve skin touch, that is, ES hot-rolled non-woven fabric + melt blown non-woven fabric + spunbonded non-woven fabric. The outer layer of the mask has the anti droplet design, the middle layer is filtered and the inner layer is moisture absorption.

At present, the common non-woven fabrics on the market can be divided into two categories, one is ordinary non-woven fabrics, the other is medical non-woven fabrics. As they are mainly used in medical treatment, they have strict requirements for quality. In addition, what are the differences between the two?

1.Antibacterial ability

Since it is a medical non-woven fabric, the primary standard is antibacterial ability. Generally, the smmms three-layer melt blown layer structure is used, and the common medical non-woven fabric uses a single-layer melt blown layer structure. Compared with the two-phase, the three-layer structure is definitely more antibacterial. As for the non-medical ordinary non-woven fabric, because there is no melt blown layer, does not have antibacterial ability.

2. It is suitable for various sterilization methods

Since it has antibacterial ability, it also needs corresponding sterilization ability. High quality medical non-woven fabrics can be applied to a variety of sterilization methods, including pressure steam, ethylene oxide and hydrogen peroxide plasma. However, ordinary non-medical non-woven fabrics can not be applied to a variety of sterilization methods.

3. Quality control

Medical non-woven fabrics need to pass the certification of relevant product quality control system, and there are strict standards and requirements for every step of the production process.

The main differences between medical non-woven fabrics and ordinary non-woven fabrics are mainly reflected in these aspects. Each of them has its own use and characteristics, so long as it is correctly selected according to the needs in use.

Our company is a professional manufacturer of non-woven fabric machines, producing various types of non-woven machines, according to the requirements of customers to produce a variety of width and configuration of non-woven production line, wide range of applications, specifications, industry applications: household goods, medical and health supplies, daily labor protection supplies, clothing, shoes and leather, industrial and agricultural uses.
